She is taking on a far-famed role
Stefanie has some big, BIG, shoes to fill. Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren, played the detective from 1991 to 2006, the show was a hit and fast-tracked Helen's career to Hollywood. In 2015, ITV announced the prequel was being eyed for production in 2017, and someone would have to do Helen justice.
And Stefanie is not afraid of it!
During a recent interview, Stefanie said: “I see it as an opportunity. If that character wasn’t there, I wouldn’t have this job. It’s interesting, challenging and exciting, but there is a lot of pressure. I’ve always admired Helen. But I just had to learn what I could from her work, then leave it alone and do my own thing – otherwise it would have been like doing an impression".
